MUSEUM OF SOUND ®
The Museum defines itself through:
- SELECTION AND COLLECTION- collects materials such as horns, amplifiers, vacuum tubes, loudspeakers, records, recordings, books, documents art and museum objects.
- PRESERVATION AND CURATING-This includes documentation, cataloguing, conservation and maintenance of the collection and perpetuation of repair technologies.
- INTERPRETATION AND CELEBRATION-This includes exhibits of and audition through period equipment, public programs, education, publications and encouragement of public and scholarly access to and research in the resources of the Museum of Sound through a variety of techniques.
- SIGNIFICANCE-The Museum's significance is found in its collection and exhibition of vacuum tube amplifiers and loudspeakers, historic documents, books and museum objects that are directly associated with the purely American artform of electro-acoustics.
